The forum seeks to enhance cooperation and consultation among all workers in the charitable and humanitarian actions at local, regional and international levels, Director General of the Qatari Authority for Charity Work Ahmed Al-Merikhi said.

He called for integration of charities and humanitarian relief agencies in the region to help handle the challenges facing the humanitarian action worldwide.

All government and non-government agencies working in the charitable and humanitarian field need to exchange experiences and ensure close cooperation in this field, Al-Merikhi underscored.

The forum will provide a chance for the participants to draw lessons from some government agencies such as the civil defense departments, he said, voicing hope that the conferees would form a clear view of joint action and integration of their efforts.

More than 20 charities and humanitarian relief agencies from the GCC members taking part in the forum tabled papers on integration and possible partnerships among them in the field of local and overseas humanitarian action.
