Rome : The European Union and Arab League began a conference in Malta Monday to discuss economic relations, cooperation and other issues.
The ministers’ will also discuss Israel-Palestinian relations, the situation in Lebanon and the US occupation of Iraq.
The government of Malta convened the meeting which also involves the foreign ministers of Saudi Arabia, the Palestinian Authority, Egypt, Spain, Italy and Morocco.
Although EU Foreign Policy Commissioner Javier Solana considered the meeting very important, Germany, France and the UK sent lower ranking officials.
