By Prensa Latina

Islamabad : The Pakistani government said on Wednesday it has identified the suicide bomber who blew himself up near the car of former Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto in Rawalpindi last month.

The secretary of Interior, Syed Kamal Shah, confirmed that Aitezaz Shah, a 15 year-old teenager who was interrogated by the special police, identified Bhutto’s killer as Bilal, a resident of the tribal region of South Waziristan.

The teenager said that he was part of a five-member suicide squad which received orders from Pakistani Taliban commander Baitullah Mehsud to kill the former premier.

Bhutto, who aspired to return to the prime minister post, was shot dead in a suicide bomb attack on December 27 after concluding an electoral meeting in Rawalpindi.

Aitezaz Shah and his accomplice Sher Zaman, who was also arrested, were moved to Rawalpindi, where they are under police custody.

Police also found at Zaman s house explosive devices and jackets used by the suicide bombers for their attacks.
