IAEA’s Governing Council first day meeting wraps up

Vienna : The first day meeting of International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA)’s Governing Council wrapped up on Monday evening.

In Monday’s meeting, the issue of strengthening security standard of the Agency was considered and ambassadors from different countries presented their viewpoints concerning the issue.

Governing Council is to consider ways of strengthening cooperation in the field of technology among members in its Tuesday meeting.

It is said that the GC is to follow up the issue of North Korean nuclear program and the latest report of ElBaradei on Iran in its Tuesday afternoon session.

Seasonal meeting of the IAEA Governing Council has started its work since Monday March 3, 2008 and it is scheduled to continue until Friday.
