The resolution has ignored the IAEA’s report in which the peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program is stressed and clearly aims at the status and legitimacy of the Agency.

IRNA reporter at UN headquarters had so far heard that Libya’s vote to this resolution would be negative, while South Africa, Indonesia, and vietnam would give abstained votes to it, but apparently only Indonesia remained resolute in maintaining in decision to vote abstained.

The ambassadors of all those four countries before the official voting gave lectures at the Security Council, trying to justify their positive votes to the anti-Iranian resolution.

Adoption of a resolution at the UN Security Council needs nine positive votes and no veto by any of the five main UNSC members with the veto right.
