Addressing the UN Security Council members, Khazaie posed the question, “Can we regardless of the Security Council’s practicing so much injustice consider this council a body commissioned to preserve world nations’ security, or to assume that this is a neutral and authentic international body?

He elaborated Islamic Republic of Iran’s policies and stands in detail at the Security Council session that was convened to survey the politically motivated draft of another UNSC resolution against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, arguing, “We are once again witnessing the bitter reality that the Security Council’s position is belittled to an extent to serve as an instrument at the service of the foreign policy of a few countries.”

Iran’s Ambassador to UN reiterated, “The international community is today witness to the fact that this council is once again taken advantage of for adopting an illegal decision against a proud and resolute nation that is merely defending its legal rights in accordance with international laws and conventions.”
Khazaie emphasized that referring Iran’s peaceful nuclear case to the UN Security Council was directly contrasting the Letter of Association of the IAEA from the very beginning, presenting proofs in detail for believing so, including the Agency’s various reports, all of which have been proof for peaceful nature of Iran’s nuclear program.

He added, “Keeping in mind these sheer facts, the move sponsored by a number of UN Security Council members today against Iran’s peaceful nuclear program, and the other moves made in this respect formerly, are and have been totally illegitimate and illegal.” According to IRNA reporter at the UN, Khazaie reminded the Security Council members of the IAEA Chief’s recent report in which it is stated that the entire remaining questions regarding Iran’s nuclear program have been properly answered, sighting that fact as another proof for the illegal nature of any other UN Security Council measure against Iran.

Iran’s Permanent Representative at UN added, “The comments made by IAEA officials that the United States is the only country that intentionally tries to ruin the process of Iran’s cooperation with the Agency is quite noteworthy in this respect.”
