Xenophobic Violence Reaches Durban

Johannesburg : After killing about 20 people and wounding hundreds xenophobic violence has reached South African port city of Durban Wednesday.

In that South African port, a group armed with stones and bottles attacked and destroyed Nigerian citizens’ properties.

As a result of this situation about 700 took refuge in a church while in Cape city an institution was organized to prevent riots.

The police dispersed with rubber bullets a crowd that was throwing themselves upon an area of immigrant in Johannesburg

With a population of about 50 millions South Africa gave refuge from three to five millions of immigrants in the last few years, most of them from Zimbabwe.

The population claimed immigrants responsible of delinquency, unemployment and other social evils.

The leader of the ruling African National Congress Jacob Zuma announced that the Army most interfere in the disturbances.
