Vadodara: Agitated with Pakistan based Jamaat-Ud-Dawa (JuD) chief Hafiz Saeed’s purported saying that Pakistanis and Kashmiris are ‘blood brothers’ who cannot be separated, Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) workers today here tried to burn his effigy in Nizampura area.
City police detained four of these workers as they had no prior permission of holding such demonstration in public and for disrupting law & order situation in the city.
Hindutva workers were protesting against Hafiz Saeed because he was reported of holding a rally in Pakistan where he made anti-India comments.
PTI reported Bhagwan Bharwad, who led the protest against Saeed, as saying, “We want war with Pakistan. India should not hold any dialogue with Pakistan. Hafiz Saeed is the mastermind of the 26/11 attack and so he must be punished.”
“We are true ‘desh-bhakts’ (patriots). It is not fair to detain patriots. The police detained us for protesting against a terrorist,” Bharwad told reporters.
Hafiz Saeed is a wanted person for his alleged involvement in India’s 26/11 case and is widely known as founder of banned terror outfit Lashkar-e-Taiba (LeT) in Pakistan. He held rally on December 4 and made fury speech in regards with the Kashmir where elections are in progress.
