Jamia Alumni Association Bahrain Chapter Celebrates Jamia’s 97th Foundation Day

To pay rich tribute to the founders of their alma mater, the Jamia Millia Islamia Alumni in Bahrain celebrated the 97th Foundation Day of their beloved institution with fervor. Eminent Jamiate and convener of India Islamic Cultural Center’s Saudi Chapter Murshid Kamal graced the occasion as the chief guest. In his keynote speech Kamal highlighted the vision, mission and goal for which this august institution came into existence.

“Jamia is not merely an educational institution, rather it is a center of excellence which represents the history of cultural diversification associated with a unique ideology of co-existence. If one wants to see the true example of secularism and combination of progressive mindset and Islamic thought, one may find it in Jamia Millia islamia”, Kamal said.

The prominent educationist and chairman of Al Haitham International School in Bahrain Shakeel Azmi, who graced the event as guest of honor, mentioned his association with Jamia and provided accounts of sacrifices made by its dedicated faculty members for educational upliftment of the community.

Making special reference to the historical contribution of Jamia in promotion of Urdu literature, Azmi said, “The Urdu literary circle cannot overlook the profound impact which professors of Jamia have made on history of Urdu literature.”

Sultan Khan also spok e on the occasion, whereas activist and social worker Masood Khan proposed vote of thanks. ” The event’s success would not have been possible without active support and sincere efforts from Obaid Naiyer, Ikhwat Burney, Neha Obaid, Shabbir Khan, Shariq Khan, Imran Khan, Nishat, Sartaj Ahmad, Raunaq Anjum, Zeeshan Azfar, Shareef Alam and many others,” thanked the event organizers in a press note.
