Uzair, 20, runs a fruit shop near Jumma Masjid in Bangalore. His cousin Nawaz accompanied him as he had summer vacations.
Uzair has been in this business for the past 2 years. He studied till 10th standard, but had some financial trouble in the family so he stopped.
He says “I sell papaya and watermelon. During Ramzan I increase the price a little bit (laughs), but people are happy to buy even at a higher price. This is my favourite month of the year, and the happiest. My sales increase this month. This is the best time of the year.”
“In the evening I go to the mosque to meet up with my friends, and after breaking the fast we go and play cricket together. It is fun.”
