In a recent political development in Maharashtra state, an Adivasi girl Rajeshwari Valvi from Nandurbar registered a win in panchayat elections from Akkalkuva panchayat seat and emerged as the first ever sarpanch of AIMIM party in Maharashtra.
Rejeshwari, managed to get 2610 votes and won with the margin of 610 votes defeating Bhartiya Janta Party candidate , Usha and Indian national congress contestant from this reserved (Scheduled Cast) seat.
While speaking with Twocircles.net, 25 year old Rajeshwari thanked Moulana Makrani , Rafat Sir and Nandurbar AIMIM team and all her voters. She said that “Development of my village is my top priority , roads are not good and cleanliness and sanitation is also an issue for us. Rajeshwari, who has studied B. A.B. Ed further says, I didn’t have any plan of joining politics but lack of basic amenities in my village brought me into politics”.
Anjum Inamdar (Ex. State Core committee member) expressed happiness over this win and congratulated Rajeshwari .He said that it is not just the victory of Rajeshwari but also the victory of the marginalized. “It is really to good to see that marginalized people are coming together and accepting the leadership of party supremo Asaduddin Owaisi”,Anjum said.
