Chief Justice, Aftab Alam inaugurates IVRS

Srinagar : Chief Justice, Justice Aftab Alam today inaugurated Inter Active Voice Response System (IVRS) at High Court Srinagar complex. This facility, will enable the litigants and advocates belonging to remote and far-off areas of the State to get information about their cases on just a phone call.

Justice Aftab Alam after inaugurating the service said “by virtue of this system the Advocates in particular and litigant public in general will be able to get the information regarding their case status sitting at their homes by just dialing the phone Numbers 2484252 and 2459369.

Describing it yet another feather in the cap of e-Court Committee of Jammu and Kashmir High Court to be more responsive to process, Chief Justice said that more steps were in offing to make Court proceedings easy for litigants.

Justice Aftab Alam said that all the orders and judgments would be available on web-site of the High Court in near future so that general public would remain abreast with the daily functioning of the High Court.

Speaking about the features of the new facility launched today, Mr. Justice said that the facility would be available after office hours and during holidays round the clock. “There is no need of using internet or web-site systems in this new information providing system.

Dialing a simple phone number would enable the caller to get the requisite information. He appealed users to inform in case of any difficulty or any problem to enable the High Court Authorities to make improvements in the system.

The function was among others attended by Justice Mansoor Ahmad Mir, Mr. Justice Bashir Ahmad Kirmani, Justice J P Singh, Registrar General Ghulam Mohi-ud-Din and Registrar Judicial Abdul Wahid.
