Lalu Prasad, whose party is opposed to the bill in its present form, said the government should convene the meeting to discuss demands for providing reservation to minorities and backward classes within the 33 percent quota for women. “They (the government) should consult all political parties,” he said.

The RJD leader had also made a demand for convening an all-party meeting Thursday while taking part in discussion on the motion of thanks to the President’s address in the Lok Sabha.

The government is keen to get the women’s reservation bill passed in the Rajya Sabha Monday.
