Training Madrasa graduates in English a revolutionary initiative of Maulana Ajmal: Vice Present of India
New Delhi: Mohammad Hamid Ansari, honorable Vice President of India released three newly published titles of Markazul Maárif Education & Research Center (MMERC) at his residence on December 12.
The new books are “Prophet Muhammad’s Life: an Introspection on Present Day Conditions”, “Common Mistakes among Muslims” and “The Elevation of Woman in Islam”. While releasing the book, the Vice President highly admired the services and achievements of Markazul Maárif and he termed the works of Maulana Badruddin Ajmal for training Madrasa graduates in English language and modern technology as ‘revolutionary initiative’.
This book release was attended by the patron and founder of Markazul Maárif and Lok Sabha MP from Dhubri, Assam Maulana Badruddin Ajmal, Mualana Burhanuddin Qasmi, the Director of MMERC and Editor Eastern Crescent, Mumbai, Mufti Obaidullah Qasmi, Assistant Professor Zakir Husain Delhi College, Mufti Muhammadullah Qasmi, Co-ordinator Internet Department of Darul Uloom Deoband, Maulana Manzar Bilal Qasmi, and the authors and translators of the new books – Maulana Mudassir Ahmad Qasmi from Mumbai, Maulana Tauqir Ahmad Qasmi from Deoband and Maulana Hifzur Rahman Qasmi from New Delhi.
MMERC, a unit of Ajmal CSR, has so far published nearly hundred titles. To meet this end, MMERC has a separate research and translations branch in Delhi which is engaged in producing contemporary religious and social literatures in English language. The above books are the part of this very programme.
The first book “Prophet Muhammad’s Life: an introspection on Present Day Conditions” is the authorship of Maulana Muddassir Ahmad Qasmi, lecturer at MMERC, Mumbai and Assistant Editor Eastern Crescent which has already been warmly acknowledged by the Urdu readers.
The author has traced the day-to-day actions of the Prophet (SAWS) in his social and family life and compared them with those of the present day Muslims.
The second book “Common Mistakes among Muslims” is actually the translation of Aghlatul Awam, the renowned and one of the best selling works of prolific writer Hazrat Maulana Ashraf Ali Thanvi. The book indicates to the dogmas and practices prevailing in the Muslim society in the name of Islam. It has been successfully rendered into English by Maulana Tauqir Ahmad Qasmi, lecturer Darul Uloom Deoband. The translator has really made painstaking efforts to translate this state of the art works into English. It is hoped that this book will play pivotal role in making the Thanvi scholarship accessible to the English readers.
The third book “The Elevation of Woman in Islam” is the renowned Urdu works (Islam Mein Aurat ka Maqam) of Maulana Abdus Samad Rahmani, Vice Amir Shari’at, Imart Shariáh Patna, which is translated into the English by Maulana Hifzur Rahman Qasmi, Research Executive of MMERC, Delhi. The author has seriously tried to determine the proper position of woman, as given by Islam, in religious, social, economic, political and family spheres of life. This book presents an unbiased and factual study of the topic. It may help understand the proper position of woman in this age of extreme views.
Apart from explaining the vast objectives and multi-faceted activities of Markazul Maárif to the Honorable Vice President, other books of Markaz Media & Publications were also introduced to him. Talking about the services and activities of the Markazul Maárif, he also admired the content, language and presentation style of the new books and hoped that they would not only make solid addition to the field of knowledge, but also prove highly helpful to the scholars and researchers.
