Chennai: To observe the 17th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition yesterday, hundreds of thousand Muslims – men and women clad in black and white dress with black banners in hands – thronged to the heart of the metropolis from across the district in vans and lorries, demanding reconstruction of the mosque. At regular interval they were raising slogans such as We Muslim need fair justice.
Tamilnadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam (TMMK) organized the demonstration in 36 districts of the state, to express the solidarity of Muslims in condoling the destruction of Babri Masjid. In Chennai S. Hyder Ali, General Secretary of the party, led the peaceful conduct of the protest against heinous act of the demolition of Babri Masjid on December 6, 1992.
TMMK demanded the government to arrest immediately the 68 culprits indicted in the Justice Liberhan Commission for Babri Masjid demolition. The party also urged the government to constitute a separate Fast Track Court to dispose the criminal case of demolition as the Rae Bareilly court is moving at snail’s pace.
The CBI should initiate the proceedings to cancel the bail of those guilty as per the Liberhan findings and put them in the jail till the case of demolished mosque decided off.
“60 years is too lengthy for a justice to be delivered as the Babri Masjid case is pending in the Lucknow Bench of the Allahabad High Court. The Centre also should initiate suitable steps to hasten the proceedings in such a manner that justice be attained as fast as possible,” TMMK said adding that the present Congress government should take the initiative that Narasimha Rao failed to take at some pretexts.
Justice Liberhan Commission has reiterated a strong secular government in India. The Hindutva coterie has been defeated by the majority Hindus only in the interest of secular India and UPA is the culmination of indelible transgressions of the Hindutvas. Feeling responsibility UPA government ought to be sincere to establish justice.
The huge mass of Muslims dispersed peacefully after two hour long calm demonstration.

As long as ignorant people exist in India, many more Babri Masjids can be demolished, and sure, many Ram temples can be built.
Many brain washed accept the ultra Brahmanist RSS definition of Indian nation. There is nothing much that can be done to prevent this rot unless foolish people get the correct sort of education.
RSS has 7 million card holders and they can assemble them together in a month and go to Ayodhya and start building a temple at the Babri Masjid site and Indian IB and Police will do nothing to prevent.
And after building the Temple if Congress come back to power then there will be another judicial commission, The report may take 17 more years and released in the year 2036, and nothing in the commission report will be implemented this is our democracy.
This is the way we deal with the biggest thugs in the society, the police will not arrest the thugs as they are scared that it might lead to more killing and more blood shed.
