A joint statement issued by the All India Muslim Majlis-e- Mushawarat (AIMMM), All India Muslim Personal Law Board Committee on Babari Masjid (AIMPLB-CBM) and Babri Masjid Movement Coordination Committee (BMMCC) said that “a cross section of Muslim intelligentsia, cutting across the political and social spectrum, participated in the Discussion and came to the conclusion that the Muslim community should not surrender its legal right to the Babri Masjid site.”

According to Islamic opinion, the place where Babri Masjid stood in Ayodhya till December 6, 1992 continues to be the real Masjid. Therefore, the consensus has emerged that Muslims should continue to “pursue the title suit pending before the Special Bench of the Allahabad High Court rigorously and diligently.”

The statement resolved to take help of the secular forces to “exert all possible pressure on the Government to reaffirm on the floor of Parliament its assurance and commitment to accept the final judicial verdict on the Question of Title and to implement the Supreme Court Order of October 1994 which provides a road map for the ultimate solution of the dispute.”

Also, the statement urged to Government to expedite the criminal cases bending before the CBI Courts and prosecute people indicted by the Liberhan Commission.

Statement signed by Dr. Dr Zafarul-Islam Khan, President of AIMMM; Dr SQR Ilyas, Convener of AIMPLB-CBM, and Syed Shahabuddin, Convener of BMCC asked the government to ban RSS, VHP, and Bajrang Dal in light of the evidence and conclusion reached by the Liberhan Commission.

Demands:

Ban RSS, VHP, Bajrang Dal

Amend Representation of People Act to bar political group advocating changing the secular character of India.

Tougher laws for hate speech and intolerance.

Other text from the statement:

“The Muslim community and all secular citizens feel frustrated not only by the slow pace of the judicial process but by the complete freedom enjoyed even by the persons who, and organizations which, publicly boast of having organized and executed the Demolition in violation of the judicial orders.”

“There can be no democracy without the rule of law and there can be no secularism if religious minorities live in a state of fear and face blackmail.”
