Aligarh: Today on30th January the whole nation mourned and paid homage to the Father of the Nation Mahatma Gandhi on his 62nd anniversary of assassination.
Aligarh Muslim University (AMU) also observed the day as the day of assassination. Several programs related to freedom struggle and services of Gandhiji for the country were organized at AMU and schools affiliated to it.
At 11 in the morning when University’s bell rang staffs, teachers and students of all departments kept silent for two minutes to mourn the assassination of Gandhiji. He was killed on 30th January 1948 by Nathuram Godse in New Delhi.
