CBI summons ex-Gujarat police chief P.C. Pande

Gandhinagar: Former Gujarat director general of police P.C. Pande was Wednesday summoned by the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probing the 2005 killing of Sohrabuddin Sheikh in a staged shootout.
He has been told to appear before the CBI Aug 11, CBI sources said.
Pande was the Ahmedabad commissioner of police during the 2002 communal riots and was the state police chief when a bulk of the shootouts by the police, including the one in which Sheikh was killed, took place.
Pande was made chairman of the Gujarat Police Housing Corporation after his retirement.
O.P. Mathur, former additional director general of police (ADGP), who was head of the state Criminal Investigation Department when his department was investigating the Sheikh case, along with another former ADGP G.C. Raigar were summoned earlier this week by the CBI.
Raigar appeared for a five-hour questioning session but Mathur sought time claiming that his mother was ailing.

Bureaucratic infiltration .....
Summoning of P.C. Pande, O.P. Mathur, and G.C. Raigar - "arrest" of Mr. Amit Shah (Minister of State for Home in Gujarat) and scores of ATS-Gujarat and other Police Officers GIVES A CLEAR MESSAGE that ALL-is-not-WELL under "Hindutva" test-tube state of Gujarat - especially for a state which gave birth to Non-violence Movement icons like Mahatma Gandhi, Morarji Desai, etc.
If there was NO INFILTRATION of Bureaucracy, especially in Gujarat - there was NO NEED for CBI to intervene. It DOES NOT "matter a bit" whether Bhajpa mis-interprets CBI calling it Congress Bureau of Investigation OR whatever. Facts are Facts on ground, which CANNOT be IGNORED.
In order for Indian Democracy to SURVIVE - it is IMPERATIVE and URGENT that "corrosion" or "toxic" SIGNALS emanating from administration, bureaucracy, and political-arena be CLEANSED THOROUGHLY with IRON-HAND firmness, rather than "procrastination", BIAS, PROTECTION, or "ignorance".

Apart from the "bureaucratic infiltration", I am amazed to hear that even some top intelligence offices in India are infiltrated by "moles" of Hindutva - including Intelligence Bureau, RAW, etc. Recent EXPOSURE of Indian Army infiltration by "desh-drohi" like Srikant Prasad Purohit is NOTEWORTHY. These are some "disturbing" signals for survival of a democracy - which IMMEDIATELY NEED some CORRECTIVE MEASURES.
