Forged visas, 15 months, and 22 harassed Indian engineers in Saudia
By Naushad Katipalla for TwoCircles.net,
Riyadh (Saudi Arabia): A group of 22 Indian engineers, who have been desperate to return home for over 15 months, heaved a huge sigh of relief on Thursday when their first batch left for India after their case was set on following the intervention of the Riyadh Governorate.
Earlier somebody forged the official papers of one company and attained 50 visas of various nationalities and Indian visa has been sold to ABT, Recruitment Agency, Mumbai, India.

ABT, Mumbai sent 22 engineers from India to Saudi Arabia in December 2008. These engineers are from Andhra Pradesh, Maharashtra and Delhi.
Once they reach Saudi Arabia they found that no vacancy existed in that company and company refused to accept them as their employees. They approached Indian Embassy. Embassy helped them to approach different authorities like Ministry of Labor, Fraud Investigation Commission, Riyadh Passport Authority - Forgery Prevention Dept with the supports of different social workers. Labor Office in Riyadh declined to listen to their plea “since their case was under investigation for forged visas.”
Their basic demand after the company’s refusal to offer them employment was to return home on exit-only visas. But the company refused to send them back to India on the pretext of conducting investigations to find the culprits who reportedly stole the visas from the company.
Indian Fraternity Forum (IFF) was involved in the case since January 2010 based on the request from Indian Embassy after other associations failed to solve this case.
IFF approached Riyadh Governor directly and succeeded in getting Governor’s approval to deport these professionals at the earliest. IFF closely worked with different departments to expedite the formalities to deportation of these engineers.
Mr. V.K. Sharma, Welfare Attaché and Mr. Unni from Embassy provided full support including personal presence whenever needed and provided required documents on time which helped IFF to do the process promptly. Even they provided temporary travel letters for these engineers to perform Umrah.
The Saudi authorities have not endorsed any remarks on their passports which could bar their re-entry into the Kingdom. Now there are no restrictions if the engineers want to come back on employment visas to work with any other company in the Kingdom. Other members are expected to leave the kingdom within the week.

Complaint against mis-treatment, forgery, and fraud

I read your comment showing "saffron tint", without ANY FEELING for human suffering. You appear to be a "sadist", who feels pleasure, at others suffering. I believe this is what is taught at Ekal Vidyalayas in India.
You are "unaware", GCC (Arab) countries have a large number of non-Muslim workforce of Indian origin.
You are also UNAWARE - Late Dhirubhai Ambani started working in Yemen Arab Republic, before building his "industrial empire" in India. Now, Anil Ambani, is the fourth richest person IN WORLD, as per latest WORLD BILLIONAIRE statistics. Check their ancestral records - for your satisfaction.
Please take time to CLEAN your BRAIN of (unwanted hatred) before commenting, next time. Thank you.

There were four non-Muslims and recruiting agent is also..
"Anonymous" !
First:
The manpower recruiting agent is a "Non-Muslim" firm, who conspired in hatching this "lucrative" plan, benefiting manpower recruiting agency.
Second:
There are three or more (per my knowledge) "Non-Muslims" in the batch, that suffered.
Third:
These Indians were helped because - because they were of Indian origin; not because they were Muslims.
Lastly:
Read this - neither the shop-owner NOR those who died in fire are Muslims. Even here I attempted to post a comment, which was not published by TCN. The gist of my comment was: Indian FM (Foreign Ministry) should intervene in this incident to find out facts, and ensure guilty are punished; those suffered "are compensated". Read this article:

After read above article, please clarify any dirt, which may have accumulated on your "Saffron-tinted" wisdom. Thank you.

This is not the first case of visa forgery
This is not the "first" and "only" CASE of VISA "forgery & fraud". Such instances, have been happening for more than a decade.
Cause:
--------
Our Indian workforce show a desperate need to work overseas, and are willing to pay any money to agents, in exchange for overseas employment. In my view, RECRUITING AGENTS must be held "responsible" for this situation.
I'm sure when these 22 engineers return, they will LODGE a case OR make attempt against "recruiting agency" to recover their loss. The "recruiting agent" will come clean saying: "Our duty was to send you there, and we fulfilled that promise". If a case is lodged in COURT - result will be: CASE DISMISSED, and agent is released "clean from any fraud".
Further action
----------------
If the agent has "in-fact" worked hand-in-glove with those (which is mostly the case), who gave the legal visa paper-work, authorization to recruit engineers - then court can exercise available LAW to "bite" those who are responsible.
This does not "RELIEVE" the employer, from whose custody, the VISA papers were "either" forged, or willingly gave the VISA PAPERS to "whoever" FOR FORGERY, out of "greed". In this case, all those persons, including employer, his HR department need to be brought to justice.
Affect/effect:
---------------
In all cases, careers, money, valuable-time, of these engineers have been lost, and can never be replaced.
It is not new; uneducated and poor workforce from Indian sub-continent (India, Pakistan, Nepal, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka) are mostly affected by such fraud.
Action:
--------
What Indian Authorities need to do is, to devise some form of enforcement to minimize such fraud, in future.
This case is no different than "human trafficing" to Europe or U.S. and must be treated on those basis. Recruiting agent, and those who FORGED the VISA Papers are "human trafficers".
