Kanshiram Urdu varsity renamed after Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti

Lucknow: Samajwadi Party (SP) government changed the name of Manyawar Kanshiramji Urdu Arbi Farsi University after famous sufi saint Khwaja Moinuddin Chishti of Ajmer on Tuesday. The name was changed through a cabinet decision on Tuesday in the meeting presided by Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav.
Earlier, the BSP regime led by Mayawati had conceptualised the university and named after its founder Kanshiram. The Vice Chancellor of the university is Anis Ansari who is a retired IAS officer. The academic session of the university is yet to begin.
