New Delhi : Reliance Communications Thursday said it has bagged multiple orders worth Rs.150 crore from the central and state governments, including the municipal corporation of Mumbai.
“With government emerging as one of the highest ICT spender, Reliance has secured several multi-year, multi-crore contracts across the length and breadth of the country,” the company said in a statement.
The company said it has signed long term contracts with the Department of Post, Municipal Corporation of Greater Mumbai (BMC), Madhya Pradesh Border Checkpost Development Company Limited along with Karnataka DISCOM and Chattisgarh DISCOM.
The Department of Post has chosen the firm for hosting their servers at Dhirubhai Ambani Knowledge City in Navi Mumbai.
“We are delighted to be a partner-of-choice for various departments of central and state government of India providing them with data centres, IT infrastructure and connectivity service,” said Punit Garg, president and chief executive officer, global enterprise business.
Reliance has signed a facility management contract for three years with BMC to outsource its IT infrastructure covering its data centre located in Worli along with 24 ward offices across Mumbai.
This contract covers operations of data centre, training of BMC IT Staff, maintenance of IT and non IT infrastructure, operating systems and application management.
The Madhya Pradesh Border Checkpost Development Company has entered into a 13-year contract under which Reliance will create a network for carrying data and video traffic.
Karnataka DISCOM has signed an agreement for five years for rolling out multi-protocol label switching (MPLS) service across 850 locations and wireless data connectivity across 60,000 data acquisition points while Chattisgarh DISCOM has signed a six-year contract for rolling out MPLS service across 250 locations.
Reliance currently has 21 data centres spread across the globe, nine of which are in India. It has been adding practically one facility in the country every year.
