None was arrested in terror case from the area, but the news report presented the locality in bad color, and maligned it, the residents said and so they protested against the daily and the administration also.

Giving details to TCN over phone, a local resident said that a team of Delhi Police had come to Dharampur locality on 30th December. They had brought three persons in mask to ascertain their earlier residence in the area. The house owner confirmed one of them – Jawed — was tenant for about two and half months and left it in August 2010. He was living there with his wife.

The police team then took the three to a madrasa/masjid in the locality near the embankment of Budhi Gandak River. According to the local resident, the imam of the mosque asked them why they were shooting photo there. They said they were shooting the river and embankment but meanwhile the imam saw a file in a policeman’s hand and he noticed they were policemen when he again asked, the team left the site in a hurry.

But next day Hindi daily Hindustan published a news item on front page saying a terrorist was arrested from the locality. This infuriated the locals and they protested.
