New Delhi: His name is Fasih Mehmood. He is 28 years old. His height is 1.7 meter. Colour of hair and eyes is black. He is wanted by India for various offences including Terrorism, Crimes involving the use of weapons/explosives. Interpol on Thursday issued Red Corner Notice to arrest Fasih Mehmood and put these details on its website.
However, his family and media reports say the man has been detained by Saudi Police on the request of Indian authorities well 17 days ago. Only Wednesday, the Supreme Court of India issued notice to central government and four state governments to produce Fasih while hearing his wife Nikhat Perween’s habeas corpus petition. The apex court has sought response by Friday noon (tomorrow).
Fasih belongs to Barasamela village in Darbhanga of Bihar. Four from his village and a dozen youths from his district have been picked in last six months in different terror cases.
