He said the Ram temple was the VHP’s main agenda.

“The VHP has never forgotten the agenda of Ram temple nor will it forget it. We will construct the temple at any cost.”

Togadia said the temple in Ayodhya won’t be built due to anyone’s benevolence. “It will come up thanks to the powerful unity of the Hindus.”

He said the VHP would raise the temple issue before the Bharatiya Janata Party at the “right time”.

VHP supporters razed the 16th century Babri Masjid in Ayodhya Dec 6, 1992, triggering widespread riots. They then built a small Ram temple at the site that is now heavily protected.

The VHP has repeatedly declared its intention to construct a grand Ram temple on the ruins of the Babri mosque.

Togadia also expressed serious concern over the illegal entry into India of Bangladeshis and urged the central government to stop it.

He said the World Hindu Congress would be held in Delhi Nov 21-23 to mark the the 50th anniversary of VHP. It will be attended by 1,500 delegates from around the world.
