New Delhi: In order to excite Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) alumni across the globe and to set a good initiative in motion, some UAE based alumni traveled from UAE to Jamia Millia Islamia and handed over Rs 4 lakh scholarship cheque to the V-C Prof Talat Ahmad.
Pervez Akram Siddiqui, 1999 BTech pass out from Jamia and few more alumni met Vice Chancellor Professor Talat Ahmad on Tuesday at his office on the university campus and held a short meeting.
The scholarship cheque was given to the V-C in presence of Jamia OSD Dr Sharif Ahmad, Registrar Prof Shahid Ashraf, FO Sanjay Kumar and G-JAN chairman Prof Moshahid Alam Rizvi.
“This is just a token amount. Many of our colleagues back in UAE want to contribute more to Global Jamia Alumni Network (G-JAN), an initiative of V-C Prof Ahmad,” said Pervez, one of the contributors.
V-C Prof Ahmad thanked the alumni for the move.
The contributors are Jamia alumni Pervez Akram Siddiqui, Imtiyaz Ahmad Ansari, Riyaz Ahmad Khan, Jalal Ahmad, Shah Shams Alam, Rizwan Wadood, Eqbal Ahmad and Muslim Ghayyur.
