Asian businessman robbed of $1 mn in Paraguay’s airport

Buenos Aires : Five gunmen have robbed an Asian businessman of $1 million during an airport heist in Paraguay's capital Asuncion, according to media reports.

The victim, who owns a currency exchange business in Asuncion, was robbed while he was waiting in the boarding lounge at Silvio Pettirossi International Airport.

Witnesses said that the assailants were "athletic youth, unmasked, and armed with guns". They came in and shouted "hold up", before taking away the victim's case containing one million dollars, said the witnesses.

There were about one hundred passengers waiting in the boarding area at the time.

The robbers managed to escape.
