Erekat told reporters Abbas will tackle issues regarding Israeli settlements, the separation barrier, and Palestinian refugees despite the fact that such cases are being discussed by ministerial committees.

Regarding the international peace conference which is scheduled for next Spring, Erekat said Arab efforts are focused on one element which is the Arab peace initiative, however deep coordination among them should be based on that.

The Palestinian chief negotiator added other main issues like Jerusalem, the borders and Palestinian refugees are issues that needs a comprehensive agreement on principles, adding that there is no need for more negotiation on them.

The meeting is scheduled to take place in the Palestinian controlled city of Jericho, right after Olmert was given the green light by his internal security intelligence service the Shavak.
