Fatah spokesman in the West Bank Fami al-Za’areer told reporters that Hamas militia attacked dozens of people in northern Gaza town of Beit Hanoun.

Eyewitnesses said that Hamas members of the executive security forces Friday detained four Fatah movement’s leaders after storming their homes in the town.

“Things started up when a Hamas executive force stormed a wedding party in the town because some people who were celebrating fired in the air from their rifles,” said the eyewitnesses.

The Hamas security force had instructed a few weeks ago that they were determined to end chaos and stop people holding arms in the streets, including opening fire in the air during wedding parties.

One witness said as soon as the four Fatah leaders were detained, dozens of women and young men took to the streets to protest the arrests.
