Bhopal: Two employees of India’s giant Public Sector Undertaking Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, (BHEL), Bhopal unit have been selected for national awards for their outstanding performances.
Ram Kishore Tripathi Artisan Grade-I has been selected for the Prime Minister’s `Shram Shree-2005′ award while Jitendra Singh, Artisan Grade-3 has been selected for Vishwakarma National award – 2006 in Class-B category. The awards will be conferred in a programme to be held in New Delhi.
According to an BHEL official Press release, Tripathi working in Feeders Maintenance has been conferred Vishwakarma National award thrice besides Shramik Sahitya Puraskar and Insaan award. He helped in savings to the tune of several hundred thousands through his meritorious service in modification of RAM unit of imported 8 tonne CNC Notching Press Machine, In-house repair of damaged RAM of 250 tonne blanking line press, design and manufacturing of Rivet annealing furnace etc. Many of the technical papers presented by him brought laurels to the company. He will be presented Rs. 40,000 in cash besides citation.
Meanwhile, Jitendra Singh has been working in Switchgear Department and Vishwakarma National award 2006 is being presented to him for development of Cold Bending Die and Punch. The development has resulted in recurring savings to the company in material and labor costs to the tune of Rs. 2.8 million.
