London : A London street will bear a striking resemblance to an Indian one, complete with colour, music and gaiety, when India’s Ministry of Tourism in association with the London mayor launches the Regent Street Festival Tuesday.
An initiative to promote Brand India in London, the one-day festival will see a variety of outdoor programmes showcasing the country’s wealth in terms of art, music and creativity.
The festival is a part of the ministry’s India Now campaign, which celebrates everything Indian, both past and present, to highlight the strong economic and cultural links between London and India.
The three-month campaign started July 17.
As part of the festival, musicians – both from India and Britain – will perform throughout the day.
