Shiraz, Iran : Minister of Information Gholam-Hossein Mohseni Ejeie here on Sunday rejected the US accusations that Iran interferes in the Iraqi domestic affairs.
Talking to reporters in this southern provincial capital city on the occasion of the Government Week (August 24-30), he stressed that since Washington is facing more and more problems in Iraq every day, it tries to put the blame of its failures on others.
The Iraqi government and people have repeatedly reiterated that the Islamic Republic of Iran has made great efforts to help establish peace and security in that war-torn country, the minister noted.
He underscored the need for neutralisation of the enemies’ anti-Iran propaganda.
Ejeie further termed the security, political and social status of the country as “good”.
Referring to the recent incidents in the country’s eastern border region, the minister said the enemy is trying to create problems for the Islamic Republic through its eastern and western neighbors who themselves face serious problems.
Ejeie lauded efforts by the armed forces and his ministry’s personnel in maintaining security and tranquility in the country’s eastern regions.
The Government Week marks the anniversary of the martyrdom of former president Mohammad-Ali Rajaei and prime minister Mohammad-Javad Bahonar in an explosion in August 30, 1981.
