Dhaka : The government in a press note Monday announced complete withdrawal of curfew from six divisional headquarters including capital Dhaka with the return of “proper and stable” situation.
It said the curfew was enforced in six divisional cities including Dhaka on Aug 22 in view of the untoward incidents on Aug 20 and afterwards. The law and order has been restored as a result of all out efforts of the law enforcement agencies and sincere support and cooperation of the countrymen., it added.
“With the return of proper and stable situation in the country, the curfew in six divisional cities including Dhaka has been completely withdrawn from 12 midnight today,” the press note said.
It said actions were underway to identify the troublemakers and elements who tried to create instability and indiscipline in the country.
The press note said appropriate steps will be taken against activities contrary to existing laws to protect public life and property.
“The government seeks continued and sincere cooperation of the peace loving people of the country to keep the overall situation stable,” the press note added.
