Hyderabad : GMR Hyderabad International Airport Limited (GHIAL) has awarded to Mumbai-based Laqshya Media Pvt Ltd the advertisement services management contract for the new airport its is developing at Shamshabad near here.
The contract is valid for a period of seven years. A GHIAL statement said Laqshya emerged the preferred bidder from among several renowned international names through a highly transparent and competitive bidding process.
The company has been selected on the technical and financial criteria including experience, expertise, capability and know-how in the advertising business.
Bagging the advertising rights of Colombo Airport and being the world’s largest tender for over 1,000 air-conditioned bus shelters which are in various stages of execution in Dubai, are some of its recent laurels, said the statement.
As per the agreement, Laqshya shall operate, manage and maintain the advertisements by offering the locations to prospective clients/third parties for advertisement.
In the pre-operation term, the company will prepare a master plan that includes in-terminal advertising and outdoor advertising facility with concept designs, themes and location planning for advertising at the airport.
“We have chosen Laqshya and are confident that they would come out and deliver with designs and themes that give the airport the ‘wow’ factor, as enjoyed by other prestigious international airports,” said GHIAL COO T. Srinagesh.
GHIAL is a joint venture promoted by GMR Infrastructure (63 percent), Malaysian Airports Holding Berhad (11 percent), Airports Authority of India (13 percent) and the Andhra Pradesh government (13 percent). It has been mandated to develop a world-class international airport in about 5,500 acres in Shamshabad.
Scheduled to launch its commercial operations in March next year, the airport is designed to handle 12 million passengers annually. The total project cost is Rs.24.78 billion.
