The IAEA announced it had reached agreement following talks between high-ranking nuclear delegations of Iran and the UN nuclear watchdog in Tehran on August 21 on modality and ways to resolve unsettled questions regarding Iran’s peaceful nuclear case. Based on the agreement, Tehran said it is ready to cooperate with the agency so the IAEA would implement a comprehensive safeguards agreement in an effective way.

Iran’s cooperation would enable the IAEA to reach conclusion about the country’s peaceful nuclear activities.

Iran’s Ambassador to the IAEA Ali-Asghar Soltaniyeh presented an official note to ElBaradei on Monday about the agreement.

The agreement also stipulates that Iran would cooperate with the IAEA so the agency would confirm that Tehran had no diversion in its peaceful nuclear activities.

Iran also stressed that its cooperation with the agency would leave no unresolved issue between the two sides.

In its official note, Iran outlined facilities it would provide to the IAEA inspectors to enter the country and conduct research in different nuclear sites.

The note is expected to be regarded in the next report of the IAEA director-general, to be released this week in Vienna.

The IAEA’s Board of Governors will discuss ElBaradei’s report during its upcoming session.
