Planning Minister Samir Abdallah told reporters that the PA will request “urgent financial support” when the donor countries meet in Paris on Dec 17.

The money would be used to “finance rebuilding and rehabilitating its institutions and to reinforce the deteriorating Palestinian economy,” he said.

The donations will be used in a 3-year-plan, aimed at dealing with a budget shortage and rebuilding the Palestinian security forces, he said.

These will also be used to underwrite economic projects that would employ Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

The Palestinian Authority does not have its own source of revenue, and depends largely on international largesse for finance.
