Jammu (IANS) : Two Indian soldiers were killed in a gunfight with a group of infiltrators near the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir, according to military officials.
A group of guerrillas from across the LoC between India and Pakistan that divides Kashmir was detected by the troops patrolling the border, said an official of the 16 Corps of the Indian Army.
The militants were challenged and in the ensuing gun battle, two soldiers lost their lives, the official said. But he could not reveal the fate of the insurgents, whether they were killed or managed to flee.
