Riyadh : Canadian ambassador to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Ronald Davidson has reiterated the keenness of the Canadian companies on working at the great Saudi projects.
He expressed satisfaction over the economic reforms being carried out in the Kingdom under the leadership of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Abdullah bin Abdulaziz.
Speaking today at Riyadh Chamber of Commerce and Industry, he said these reforms will attract the Canadian business sector to open new investment channels with its Saudi counterpart for more cooperation and investment.
He noted that the contribution of the Canadian companies to the implementation of the Saudi projects does not exceed 0.6 percent.
On his part, Abdulrahman Al-JERAISI, the Chairman of the Chamber’s Board of Directors, reiterated the keenness of the Saudi business sector on partnership with the Canadian sector.
He pointed out that the Canadian products are widely accepted in the Kingdom.
“Moreover, the Saudi products can be marketed in Canada.”
He said the big strides made by the Kingdom notably in the field of petrochemicals and economic cities can make it possible to enhance cooperation between the business sectors in the two countries.
It is worth mentioning that the commercial balance between the Kingdom and Canada shows a surplus in favor of the Kingdom due to a hike in Saudi exports to Canada compared to its imports between 2003 and 2006.
The Kingdom’s exports to Canada remarkably increased last year to SR 5,425 million to make Canada the 26th largest in the list of the countries which receive the Kingdom’s exports.
