Lucknow : A police sub-inspector was shot dead Wednesday evening in Uttar Pradesh’s Akbarpur district allegedly by his two relatives over a land dispute.
Shiv Singh was killed in Duttpura village of the district at 6 p.m, said Superintendent Of Police (SP) Vir Bahadur Singh.
Police suspect that Shiv Singh’s brother, Ram Singh, and his nephew are involved in the murder. Both the accused are absconding and police have launched a manhunt to nab them.
The deceased, according to the SP, had a long-pending dispute with his two brothers Ram and Pitambar Singh over a piece of land in the district, which is also called Kanpur Dehat.
