A spokesman for Magen David Adom Emergency Services was quoted by Yedioth Ahronoth as saying that a military doctor pronounced the death of the two Israelis, critically wounded in a shooting attack next to the Telem settlement in the south Hebron hills.

Earlier, Israeli police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld told Xinhua that two Israelis have been seriously injured in the shooting attack south of Hebron.

“A number of Israelis were walking around this area at the moment. Rescue services were treating the two on the scene and searching for others possibly wounded in the attack,” he added, describing the incident as a terrorist attack.

A Ha’aretz report said that a third Israeli was lightly wounded in the drive-by shooting attack, when Palestinian gunmen in a passing car opened fire at them.

Israeli army, along with search and rescue personnel, began searching the area, but so far with no result.

Palestinian security sources confirmed the shooting but said it was not immediately clear what sparked the incident.
