Jerusalem : Israeli Cabinet on Sunday will discuss releasing some Palestinian prisoners to swap an Israeli soldier captured by Hamas-linked militants, Israeli news media reported.
The Cabinet ministers will consider releasing Palestinians involved in failed attacks on Israel.
Israeli authorities have refused to free Palestinian prisoners involved in attacks on Israelis, which, according to Israeli defense officials, dampened an Egypt-brokered plan to exchange 450prisoners for Cpl. Gilad Shalit, captured by Hamas-linked militants in June 2006.
According to media reports, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert hopes to hold discussions to win more ministerial support for easing terms of the exchange deal.
