Georgette is the mother of Eto'o's three children – Etienne, Maelle and Siena, all of whom live in Paris with their mother. Eto'o, 26, insisted two weeks ago that he is going to stay at Barca, despite rumours of poor relations with coach Frank Rikjkaard – and despite interest from big clubs like AC Milan and Chelsea.

Tevez deal stalls again

London: Manchester United will try to complete the signing of Argentina forward Carlos Tevez next week, it emerged Saturday, after further complications arose. The Premier League have insisted that United must sign the player from West Ham, who signed him last August, only to have to redraft his contracts after it became apparent they had breached regulations on third-party ownership.

It seemed, as Tevez agreed personal terms with United, that a deal was close, possibly even on a loan basis. However, West Ham insisted there was no such agreement, despite Kia Joorabchian, Tevez's agent and the "third-party" in question, claiming he had been authorised by West Ham to discuss potential transfers with other clubs.

Dunga dismisses poor show

Puerto La Cruz (Venezuela): Brazilian coach Carlos Dunga has dismissed claims that his team is playing badly in the Copa America in Venezuela. "I like to win. The show? We waited for 24 years (for a World Cup title) and others won. The Europeans were delighted," Dunga said.

Brazil, led by football legend Pele, won the 1970 World Cup, but then did not win it again until 1994 with defensive midfielder Dunga as its captain. "You have to be balanced and think about winning. Being efficient is a quality," the now coach said in a press conference in Puerto La Cruz, Venezuela.
