Chennai : HCL founder Shiv Nadar, former DRDO chief V.S. Arunachalam and the Bangalore based Centre for Study of Science, Technology and Policy (CSTEP) Wednesday joined hands here to form a non-profit think tank to work for development of scientific research.
"This partnership will provide thought leadership, conceptual framework and policy advisory to undertake development of select technologies to take research to the next level for public good," said Nadar, who also runs the SSN institutions which comprise an engineering college, a school of management and computer applications, and an advanced software engineering school.
Arunachalam pointed out that the coming together would create a conducive and economically rewarding climate for development of faculty – something woefully in short supply in the nation due to brain drain.
