"Best Practices: What US Educators Can Learn From India" is the theme of an ongoing US educators' Indian tour programme as part of which a group of 16 educators and administrators from elementary, middle and secondary schools in the US is visiting Kolkata for five days from Wednesday.

They will learn about Indian curriculum development and implementation in the classrooms, a US embassy statement said.

The group is also keen to learn about the training of teachers in general knowledge, humanities and sciences.

A special feature of the programme is that each member of the American team is being paired with an Indian who aids in the creation and implementation of the curriculum projects produced as a result of the programme.
