New Delhi : Genpact, WNS and Transworks have been adjudged the top three third-party BPO units in India, according to the rankings of the leading 15 IteS-BPO exporters released Thursday by a leading IT industry association.
The rankings are based on the revenues for 2006-07 reported as per the annual National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom) survey on the industry's performance and it also includes those whose headquarters are located outside India.
"The ITeS-BPO segment continued to grow at a scorching pace, to record export revenues of $8.4 billion in FY07 (2006-07). We expect segment revenues to grow at around 30 percent next year to clock exports of $10.5-11bn billion in FY08 (2007-08)," Nasscom's outgoing president Kiran Karnik said in a statement.
"The domestic market has also contributed to the growth of the segment as a whole and we expect ongoing momentum considering the large addressable market that it offers. Overseas M&A (mergers and acquisitions), along with increase in scale and depth of existing service lines, has complemented the growth of this segment," he said.
According to Nasscom, the ITeS-BPO employee base has grown to 553,000 in 2006-07 from 415,000 in 2005-06.
Besides the top three, the list of top 15 BPOs includes IBM-Daksh, EXL Service Holdings and the units of Tata Consultancy, Wipro, HCL and Infosys.
