10 pilgrims injured as militant lobe grenade at Pahalgam

Srinagar : At least ten Amarnath Pilgrim were injured when unidentified militants lobbed a hand grenade on a group of yatris near Gurdwara in the outskirts of Pahalgam town on Saturday.

Sources said that unidentified persons believed to be militants threw a grenade towards the yatris early this afternoon. Ten persons were injured in the attack, while the condition of six is stated to be serious.

Sources said that panic gripped the area soon after the blast and people were seen running for shelter. The security forces has cordoned the area and started man haunt for those involved in the attack.

Meanwhile, sources said that six seriously injured were soon shifted to Srinagar while four were discharged after giving them first aid.

Karmokath, son of Sarwanth Karmokath, resident of West Bengal, Wali Nath Pund, son of Guru Sudhu Ghat, resident of Rishi Keesh Ghat , Opinder , son of Ram Prasad, resident of Delhi, Tirlok , son of Bishan Lal, resident of Thathri Doda, Gurmeet Singh, son of Tirlok Singh, resident of Samba Jammu and Gurmuhk Dass , son of Pardash, resident of Haridvida.
