"The security forces will continue to act non-stop in Gaza and the West Bank. No terrorists are immune," Olmert told the weekly cabinet meeting in Jerusalem.

"These operations are producing results and will continue so long as they contribute to the preservation of our security interests and to the defence of the citizens of Israel," he added.

The al-Quds Brigades, the Islamic Jihad's (Holy War) military wing, claimed responsibility for the rocket attack.

Meanwhile, four Israel Defence Forces (IDF) soldiers were lightly wounded when Palestinian militants in Gaza fired four mortar shells at the Erez Crossing, IDF spokesperson said.

The western Negev has seen a decrease in the number of Qassam rockets fired at it by militants from Gaza. Nine rockets hit the area over the weekend, including one that damaged Sderot house Saturday.

Over the weekend, IDF killed five Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza, including three militants and two teenagers.
