The dead were all from Togo, returning home from a football match between the two African national teams, Awareness Times reported late Sunday.

There were conflicting reports of whether players and staff of the Togo national team or only their supporters were on board the Paramount Airlines aircraft.

Togo beat the Leone Stars 1-0 Sunday afternoon in Freetown.
