Jammu: All state Kashmiri Pandit Conference(ASKPC), representing various community groups has welcomed the statement of HM chief Sayeed Sallah-u-Din wherein he appealed the militants to protect the families of minority community who opted to stay back in the Valley.
In a statement issued here today, ASKPC termed Hizb chief’s statement as a positive development indicating restoration of long lasting peace in the state that would facilitate return of all displaced Kashmiri Pandits to their mother land.
However, the ASKPC in its statement contested the allegations that The Kashmiri Pandit community was forced to leave their homes under a ‘conspiracy’ hatched by the than Governor Jag Mohan. The statement said that no communities under whatever circumstances like to leave their homes and if it had been so, then Mast Gul who was instrumental in gutting of Charar-i-Sharief during the same time was also the man of Jag Mohan.
The statement further read that Beta Karate, responsible for number of killings of their community members was jubilated in valley after he managed to flee from the prison.
“If the migration of KP’s was mechanized by Jag Mohan, why the majority community leaders did not made efforts to stop the pandits”, the statement said.
However, the leaders of the community hoped that Hizb Chief would play a positive role in restoring peace in the valley, adding that his contribution in reviving the lost faith among the Hindus and Muslims of Kashmir would facilitate the reunion.
