Islamabad :Â A provincial Chief Executive in Pakistan on Thursday said that the recent killings in the country's tribal region were the result of foreign attack.
Some 32 people were killed when missiles were fired in the North Waziristan tribal region on Tuesday, according to the locals.
But the army spokesman said that it was accidental blast as those died were making explosives.
The Chief Minister North West Frontier Province (NWFP), Akram Khan Durrani told reporters in Peshawar that foreign strike killed people in Waziristan, however, he did not mention the name of any country.
The government must take notice and adopt a tough stand on such acts, said Durrani, who is the first top government functionary to blame foreign country for the killings.
Locals said that missiles were fired an American pilot-less plane from Afghan territory, where thousands of foreign troops are fighting against Taliban.
The NWFP assembly adopted a unanimous resolution, condemning the attack and demanded of the federal government to change its foreign policy to stops such incidents.
Durrani said that the attack will not affect a last year peace deal in North Waziristan between the local Taliban and the army, which had brought to an end attacks on each other.
The attack was not carried out by the government or tribesmen but foreign elements are behind it, he said. He said the federal government and the tribesmen should adopt a tough stand, as no country has the right to target innocent people in other independent country.
Earlier two members said that the US-led coalition in Afghanistan bombed the Pakistani territory and killed innocent people.
They wanted to move a resolution to the condemn the bombing and the Speaker Bakht Jehan allowed them to move the resolution.
The resolution demanded change in foreign policy to stop such attacks in tribal regions.
The assembly also offered condolences over the deaths.
