New Delhi : Three people were arrested for allegedly duping several banks in the capital of Rs.700,000 by using fake credit cards, police said Friday.
Suresh Kumar, 27, Manoj Kumar, 22, and Amit Mathur, 29, all residents of Jahangir Puri in north Delhi, were nabbed Thursday form Gaffar Market in Karol Bagh for duping various banks like State Bank of India, ICICI, UTI, HSBC, HDFC and ABN-AMRO.
Police said 13 fake credit cards of different banks and one computer was recovered from their possession.
The accused revealed they were involved in the crime for the past eight months and had learned how to make fake credit cards while working with ABN-AMRO Bank, police said.
"The members would usually go to any big shop or a gas station, swipe their credit cards and obtain cash from the shopkeepers by paying them five percent of the total money," Deputy Commissioner of Police A.S. Cheema said.
He added that officials are verifying their involvement in other cases.
